Yes, it’s true; everyone in Berlin claims to be an artist (myself included of course) and today was a good reminder of that – reality check please!
A new kunsthalle (art gallery) in Berlin started accepting artwork today from a queue of thousands of hopeful artists to mark its new opening on April 8th. So what’s all the buzz about? Well, they’re offering this special exhibition to anyone and everyone – all artworks are accepted until the walls are full.
The queue must have been nearly 3 kilometers long when I went. Indeed, I was one of the crazy artists standing in this line but was disappointedly turned away when they realized they wouldn’t be able to manage registering all of our pieces today. Despite my dismay, it was a fun atmosphere – countless numbers of artists standing on the street with their masterpieces in hand (mind you, it was freezing cold and started to sprinkle snow every now and then)…Gotta love Berlin ♥
