Jackson Pollock Day 2013

Jackson Pollock Day 2013 came a bit later than the previous two years, but it was as exciting, messy and lovely as ever! For those of you who don’t know, in 2011, I dubbed May 22nd as the first ever International Jackson Pollock Day.

Okay, maybe not so international…maybe not celebrated at all, by anyone, except me and a few close friends, but it could be the next big thing!

Who is Jackson Pollock? You may recognize him best as, ‘that artist who throws paint at canvas’ – and that’s exactly what this day is about! No rules, restrictions or ‘right vs wrong’…just art and fun! As Picasso said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”…

…well, here’s your chance! So grab some paint, canvas/paper/etc…, and some clothes you don’t mind getting drenched in paint; because, let’s be realistic, every Jackson Pollock Day ends in a paint fight… ;-)
